Smoothie 101 – 3 refreshing smoothie recipes for weight loss

Smoothies are a healthy and good choice anytime of the day. They are a fast and easy way to supply your body with vitamins and minerals for nourishment. You can use them to replace one of your meals if you want to lose weight.

The benefits of a healthy smoothie are many:

  • It improves digestion
  • It increase energy
  • It aids in weight loss
  • It helps in detoxifying your body
  • It aids in fitness
  • Easy way to eat fruits and vegetables

 

A smoothie can either help or destroy your weight loss goals. For your smoothie to achieve the purpose of weight loss and good health, you must follow the following rules

  • Stick to fruits that are in season, they are readily available and cheap
  • Use mainly local fruits, they are healthier and most time, harmful preservatives have not been used on them
  • You can use homemade soya milk or coconut water or plain water
  • Use nut butters, healthy seeds and nuts for more protein and MUFA
  • Add spices and roots like ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg
  • Make your smoothie thick. A thin or runny smoothie will not keep you full for a long time.

 

Bellisima Fruit dream smoothie

Recipe

1 cup of watermelon

¼ banana

¼ cup pineapple

¼ apple

1 tbsp. of ground flax seed

Ginger

Cut all the fruits into pieces. Add water to the blender. Add the cored and sliced apple and pineapple and blend. Add the banana, flax seed, water melon and ginger and blend till smooth. Pour into a glass and drink.

Calories – 188 calories

 

Bellisima Yummy java smoothie

This smoothie is so refreshing and energizing. The coffee and banana mixed together gives a sweet and slightly bitter taste that will make you go for another glass. Self – control is highly recommended for this one.

Recipe

1 banana

½ – 1 tsp. of coffee

1 tbsp. ground flax seed

2 Ice cubes

Cut the banana into pieces and blend. Add the coffee, flax seed and ice cube and blend till smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Calories – 152

 

Bellisima Green power smoothie

Recipe

1 green apple cored and cut into pieces

¼ medium sized cucumber

A pinch of cinnamon

Core the apple and cut into pieces. Slice the cucumber and remove the seeds, cut into pieces. Pour a little water into the blender and add the apple, cucumber and flax seed. Blend till smooth. Pour into a glass and add a pinch of cinnamon.

Optional – The taste is great but, if you would like to sweeten it more, you can add pineapple

Calories – 120

Meet the fruits

Cucumber prevents water retention and is rich in fiber which helps your digestive system to function properly.

Apple –Apple is rich in fiber and vitamin c. It aids digestion and helps in stabilizing your blood sugar

Pineapple – vitamin c, calcium, B6 and fiber

Watermelon has Vitamin C, lycopene and antioxidants. It also contains Vitamin a, b6 and fiber

Banana contains potassium and fiber
